Tambah satu lagi ah lagu yang enak buat Wedding Song. Lagu ini karya Richard Marx yang udah lumayan lama banget. Judulnya Now and Forever. Gue inget sama lagu ini gara-gara petikan gitar akustiknya yang tiba-tiba terngiang di otak gue. Abis gue cari lagu ini, gue makin sadar kalo lagu ini romantis banget.

Lagu ini nuansanya akustik murni. Itu yang bikin gue suka banget sama lagu ini. Sound dari gitar stringnya nikmat banget. Padahal petikannya sederhana banget, tapi nadanya, kalo mau lebay dikit, indah… Ada sedikit iringan orkestra biola di belakang. Bikin lagu ini makin enak di kuping.

Buat liriknya sendiri, udah bisa dijamin keromatisannya. Masih inget lagu Right Here Waiting? Itu termasuk di lagu balad romantis yang terbaik. Padahal aslinya Richard Marx adalah penyanyi pop rock yang kebanyakan lagu-lagunya cukup up beat. Wajar aja sih kalo lagu ini romantis banget, soalnya lagu ini dia bikin buat istrinya Cynthia Rhodes. Dan lagu ini bisa dibilang sebagai janji seorang pria untuk setia sama istrinya… Waw!!!

Ini lagu bener-bener pas buat gue. Lagu ini ngga terlalu mellow dan ngga terlalu keras. Mungkin ngga begitu cocok buat di pernikahan sih, tapi lagu ini punya lirik yang lumayan romantis. Dan jujur aja gue ngga nyangka kalo Edwin McCain aslinya seorang musisi rocker. Tapi dia jago banget bikin lagu-lagu romantis. Contohnya I’ll Be yang dulu jadi hits banget.

Lagu ini awalnya cukup pelan dan lembut. Suara Edwin McCain sendiri ngga terlalu keras. Tapi justru lembut, sesuai sama aransemen lagunya. Baru pas masuk ke reff, lagu ini mulai kedengeran agak nge-rock. Khas banget rock tahun 90-an. Tapi lagu ini kaya banget gara-gara ditambah sama unsur orkestra di belakang. Emang ngga terlalu dominan, tapi bikin lagu ini jadi lebih enak.

Nilai lebih lagu ini, Could Not Ask For More, bisa dilihat dari judulnya. Dalem banget maknanya… Gimana kita bisa nerima pasangan kita apa adanya. Yang penting adalah rasa cinta antara keduanya. Jadi kita ngga minta apa-apa lagi yang macem-macem sama pasangan kita. Well, gue bilang itulah cinta yang sebenarnya. Menerima segala yang ada di pasangan kita, baik kekurangan ataupun kelebihannya.

Sebenernya gue ngga terlalu suka boy band. Kecuali Boyz II Men. Tapi buat lagu-lagu yang cocok di pernikahan, gue dapet lagu dari 98 Degrees. Boy Band yang udah lama banget ngga kedengeran kabarnya kecuali dari salah satu personilnya, Nick Lachey aja. Dan lagu ini cukup romantis dan versi yang mereka bawain bisa nyentuh banget.

Sebenernya lagu ini ditulis dan dibawain sama Mark Wills, penyanyi country, di tahun 1998. Tapi setaun kemudian 98 Degrees ngerilis lagu ini dengan versi mereka sendiri. Dan versi mereka labih kerasa unsur romantisnya. Aransemen yang dibikin cocok banget sama liriknya.

Untuk liriknya sendiri, yah standard cara seorang pria ngungkapin isi hatinya buat pasangannya. Romantis. Mungkin kalo di acara nikahan ada bagian di mana mempelai pria ngejemput mempelai wanita, lagu ini cocok buat ngiringin adegan itu. Ato mungkin kayak di videoclip mereka, lagu ini bisa diputer saat mempelai pria nunggu datengnya mempelai wanita. Mungkin lagu ini bisa cukup bikin merinding. Hehehe…

Gue baru dapet inspirasi buat berbagi sama kalian lagu-lagu yang kira-kira asik buat pernikahan. Dan kemaren juga ngga sempet posting soalnya gue lumayan sibuk nyari lagu-lagunya. Lumayan dapet banyak nih. Dan gue bakal review satu-satu. Dan lagu pertama yang gue bahas tentunya lagu yang gue pikir adalah lagu yang paling bagus dan paling menyentuh.

Shania Twain – From This Moment On. Ini lagu pertama yang gue pilih. Karena lagu ini dalem banget. Isi liriknya bisa bikin gue merinding. Dan gue juga ampir netesin air mata pas gue dengerin lagu ini lagi setelah sekian lama. Pikiran gue langsung melayang, ngebayangin gue lagi jalan ke pelaminan sama cinta gue, Adies Frina. Damn, this is really great! Nuansa yang gue dapet ampir sama kayak waktu gue dengerin I Finally Found Someone di nikahan temen gue.

Suara Shania Twain emang ga usah diraguin lagi, merdu banget. Penyanyi cantik ini bisa banget bikin atmosfer romantis di lagu ini hidup. Ngga heran juga sih, karena lagu ini adalah lagu cinta yang dia bikin sama suaminya  Mutt Lange pada saat itu. Belom lagi di awal lagu ada satu paragraf yang isinya janji cinta. Bikin lagu ini punya makna yang lebih dalem lagi.
