Alex Band – Only One | Song Review & Lyrics

Iseng-iseng buka website tentang musik alternative, gue dapet info kalo Alex Band, eks vokalis The Calling, baru bikin EP sebagai wujud dari proyek solonya dia. Setelah nyari-nyari single andalannya, akhirnya gue dapet juga lagu Only One yang merupakan single pertamanya. Dan setelah gue denger, musiknya emang ngga jauh dari musik The Calling sendiri.

Lagu ini kalo dari liriknya sih kayaknya bisa punya banyak makna. Tapi yang gue tangkep adalah musik ini bercerita tentang perpecahan. Ato kalo boleh diperjelas dikit, tentang peperangan. Cocok juga sih buat keadaan sekarang yang lagi ada perang. Dan banyak juag musisi yang sekarang lagi bikin lagu yang punya tema protes perang. Contohnya U2, di album terbaru mereka yang belom keluar, mereka bakal punya single yang isinya tentang protes perang. Dan mungkin Alex Band juga pengen bersuara lewat lagu ini.

Buat lagunya sendiri, nuansanya agak gelap dikit. Lebih mirip sama single The Calling untuk soundtrack Daredevil, For You. Untuk aransemennya, dia pake piano, beat dilagu ini dibangun pake drum loop. Plus beberapa sound dari Synthetizer. Jadi lagu ini kerasa banget one man show-nya. Lagunya ngga terlalu rame, sederhana aja. Tapi yang lebih penting sih, suara khas Alex Band masih kerasa banget. Walau di lagu ini kita bisa denger kualitas vokal yang sebenernya dari seorang Alex Band.
